WEA-PAC membership soars as we head into RA!

With RA just 2 days away local education associations have jumped their WEA-PAC membership by almost 300 members statewide--it's amazing!

Locals with 50 percent WEA-PAC membership get special recognition but all locals are recognized for the growth they've had this year. While we care a lot about the numbers...the bottom line is, we join WEA's Political Action Committee to recommend and elect pro-education candidates who support public education.

  1. Hi Simone, I really want you to understand how I feel about how Renton Education Association IS beyond 50% when we take our 100 Substitute Teachers off our Local Bargaining Unit Roster. We have made great gains and it pains me to not be at 50% when the MAJORITY of buildings in our EA are way beyond half way!!! We will not be above 50% at RA, but taking into account our Subs being part of our bargaining (even though we are proud of representing them, they deserve it) I feel a bit saddened that our efforts in Renton don't reflect out actual PAC %... Insight? Many of our subs work in multiple districts, and I've made attempts at recruiting them as PAC members, but I've had NO success.... Just a thought as I expect the personal disappointment of NOT being at that 50% mark!!! How many other districts are in our position, I wonder?
